Lori Kornack, MA, QMHP

I was drawn to the counseling field by a desire to help other people heal.  Throughout my journey as a therapist, I’ve encountered and incorporated several modalities that support people in this endeavor. I’ve found a particular affinity for Internal Family Systems (IFS), the primary modality I work from, for its non-pathologizing and compassionate approach to the human experience, its effectiveness in healing trauma, and its ability to help us to engage with ourselves and the world differently. I use a trauma-informed Internal Family Systems informed approach, while also drawing from Mindfulness, Compassion, and Dialectical Behavior approaches, to facilitate healing and change.

When facing a stressful life experience or traumatic event that is causing significant emotional distress, you may realize that working through it alone or talking with family and friends isn't enough to bring relief. Whether you're facing a difficult life situation or unhelpful or unhealthy patterns that continue to present themselves in your life, I offer a warm, safe, and nurturing environment for personal exploration, emotional healing and finding new ways to live more effectively. I strive to instill hope while empowering my clients to utilize their own innate strength and power to make meaningful changes in their lives.

I obtained my Masters in school and clinical mental health counseling from Adams State University in 2021 and have a broad range of experience working in school, PHP/IOP, and outpatient mental health settings. I am a Level 1 certified IFS therapist (soon to be Level 2), working towards certification.  I help adults in all life stages struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, complex trauma, life transitions, unresolved grief, and mood and personality disorders.

It would be an honor to help you work towards the healing and transformations you want to see.
